The sample was shipped from the Naujaat Project for processing in Saskatoon , SK , that is anticipated to commence during the December quarter . Australia : Site focussed work at the Ellendale Diamond Project progressed significantly and the construction in South Africa of a state - of - the - art bulk sampling plant comprising XRT technology was completed . Botswana : Continued progress on the evaluation of 15 targets as part of the 12- month exploration program across targeted greenfields project areas in Botswana . Downstream : First purchase made of Fancy Yellow Diamonds and cutting and polishing capability secured comprising secure , purpose built facilities , an experienced diamond operations team and cutting and polishing equipment . Funding of Burgundy's innovative strategy well supported by a global investor base following capital raising of $ 50.2 million comprising an equity placement $ 15.2 million and the issue of $ 35.0 million of unsecured convertible notes . Overview The Board of Burgundy Diamond Mines Ltd ( ASX : BDM ; “ Burgundy ” or “ the Company " ) is pleased to provide its quarterly activities and Appendix 5B cashflow report for the quarter ended 30 September 2021 ( " September Quarter ” or “ Quarter ” ) . The September Quarter saw significant progress across Burgundy's portfolio of diamond exploration projects and downstream strategy . Bulk sampling activities were successfully completed at the Naujaat Project in Nunavut , and the sample was shipped for processing in Saskatoon , SK . In Botswana , there was no kimberlite intersected from the drilling programs completed early in July 2021 , however , drilling programs on further targets are now underway with further results expected during the December quarter . Substantial progress was made at the Ellendale Diamond Project , with significant work undertaken on site including the construction of a 16 - person camp , re - sheeting of roads and building pads for plant and water infrastructure . In addition , geological assessment and resource modelling was ongoing and the construction in South Africa of the state- of - the - art bulk sampling plant comprising XRT technology is completed . The expansion into downstream diamond marketing activities progressed rapidly , and during the Quarter , Burgundy completed its first purchase of third - party rough Fancy Yellow diamonds from Arctic Canadian Diamond Company Ltd. In addition , the Company acquired the capability to cut and polish Fancy Colour diamonds in a secure purpose - build facility in Perth , Western Australia . Polished diamond product , from the Company's planned operations and from third party purchases , will be branded under a dedicated and exclusive Fancy Colour brand owned by Burgundy . Work on brand naming and architecture continued during the Quarter . Burgundy Managing Director , Mr Peter Ravenscroft , said the Company had made excellent progress in advancing its diamond strategy in the September Quarter . Bulk sampling is expected to commence at Ellendale in the first quarter of 2022.
