ASX : TRL ASX ANNOUNCEMENT 30 April 2021 QUARTERLY ACTIVITIES REPORT for the Quarter ended 31 March 2021 TANGA RESOURCES Highlights Field work is under way at the Bocanda Project in Côte d'Ivoire , with initial stream sediment sampling In - country exploration team established and initial community engagement at the Mankono and Bouaflé Projects in Côte d'Ivoire under way Large scale gold in soil anomalism highlighted by regional sampling at the Damara Project in Namibia Experienced geologist Pierrick Couderc appointed as Group Exploration Manager Tanga Resources Limited ( ASX : TRL ) ( Tanga or the Company ) is pleased to provide its Quarterly Activities Report for the Quarter ended 31 March 2021 . Exploration - Côte d'Ivoire The March Quarter represented an important step forward for the Company in Côte d'Ivoire with the establishment of a dedicated team of geologists and the associated administrative support for the Company's exploration activities . During the Quarter , efforts to further consolidate the Company's landholding in Côte d'Ivoire were carried out , with new permit applications being submitted to the Direction Générale des Mines et de la Géologie ( DGMG ) . The Company is currently awaiting full documentation on these applications from the DGMG , with details to be released in due course . Bocanda Project Field work at the Bocanda Project commenced in March . The initial program consists of stream sediment sampling over both the Bocanda and Bocanda Nord permits , totalling approximately 150 samples . - The samples are treated and analysed by the BLEG methodology a reconnaissance geochemical sampling technique which involves the collection of a large quantity of sample ( usually between 2-5 kilograms ) in the active bank of the stream , which is then sieved to extract the fine silt to clay fractions . This sample is leached using cyanide and can be analysed to extremely low detection limits ( usually 0.1ppb for gold ) . This is a robust , cost - effective method which has been applied successfully in the discovery of gold deposits and used extensively across West Africa as an efficient method to fast- track reconnaissance exploration over new ground . Full results are expected to be received in the June Quarter and will be immediately followed up by soil sampling grids across the anomalous catchment areas .
