( " the Company " ) , a world leader in specialty label , security and packaging solutions for global corporations , government institutions , small businesses and consumers , today reported 2021 third quarter results . Sales for the third quarter of 2021 increased 8.4 % to $ 1,488.2 million compared to $ 1,373.4 million for the third quarter of 2020 , with organic growth of 10.3 % and acquisition - related growth of 2.2 % , partially offset by 4.1 % negative impact from foreign currency translation . Operating income ( ¹ ) for the third quarter of 2021 declined 9.1 % to $ 223.9 million compared to $ 246.3 million for the comparable quarter of 2020. Operating income ( 1 ) declined 5.0 % , excluding currency translation .
