4 Current feeder infrastructure cannot absorb the imminent surge in peak demand U.S. System Peak Demand in GW (1995 – 2050E) Why Now, What Changed? • With surging demand, global electricity supply needs to double over the next 30 years, and current infrastructure cannot manage this growth • From 2005 – 2025, demand growth has been masked by efficiency gains from LED lighting, smart thermostats, heat pumps, and other technologies ‒ However, many of these efficiency opportunities are now largely exhausted, meaning demand will become more visible and harder to offset going forward U.S. Peak Electricity Demand • By 2030, 80–160 GW of demand is expected to be managed by Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), representing a 167% increase in just seven years • Eguana offers one of the only fully integrated hardware and software platforms, designed to immediately improve feeder line capacity, efficiency, and reliability—while deferring significant capital investments for utilities Feeder Infrastructure – Today’s Grid Problem

What Options do Utilities Have? 5 Source: Finally the right time for DER, Andy Lubershane, Sep 2025 Traditional Infrastructure Investments have been neglected and take decades to plan and complete The costs of traditional equipment and their lead times are multiples of what they were only 5 years ago Dispatch frequency for industrial demand response is going off the chart, far beyond provider expectations Distributed Energy Resources, especially batteries, are the most attractive solution to shoulder the burden of increasing peak load. • Distributed batteries can be deployed rapidly and flexibly where the local need is greatest and also contribute to system-wide peak load reduction. • Equipment costs are dropping as manufacturing scales up, and installation costs will drop with the efficiencies of mass deployment. • There is no lock in based on 10- 15 year planning horizons. Deployments start immediately, incorporate technology improvements as they arise, and installation rates and geography can be adjusted in real time based on revised data

6 Feeder Infrastructure – How Bad Is It? Ontario – Feeder Capacity Constraints Vermont – Feeder Capacity Constraints • Years of complacency have left feeder lines congested and under-sized for today’s growth • Traditional feeder line infrastructure supply chains cannot match demand with up to 5 year wait times for certain materials • Urgent solutions are required today for power grid transition • Ontario and Vermont are shown above as examples – but feeder constraints are a systematic challenge across North America and other advanced grids • Without intervention, grid congestion will translate directly into higher costs and stalled electrification • Eguana’s hardware and software platforms provide immediate relief while delivering value to all stakeholders
Page 7
7 Eguana Edge – Feeder Upgrades in Real Time Eguana Edge vs. Traditional Feeder Upgrade Smarter Peak Load Management with Eguana • Feeder upgrade decisions require detailed peak load forecasting and advance planning to determine the appropriate investment level and timing • Funds are committed many years ahead of actual need and in many cases, the full capacity will never be used because the minimum upgrade increment is greater than foreseeable load growth • Using Eguana Edge, feeder peak load growth can be managed incrementally, and investment decisions can be reviewed and adjusted on an annual basis • Eguana Edge avoids overbuild and provides additional flexibility to provide

HOW LONG DOES MY BATTERY LAST Refrigerator: 1-2 kWh per day TV: 0.1-0.5 kWh per day Lighting: 0.5-1 kWh per day • Battery drain depends on how much charge there is at the onset of the outage and the rate at which the loads draw energy • For typical loads (right), expect up to a day of support with the 20% reserve. And several days of performance, with a full battery. Heating devices consume energy much faster than the loads listed. A standard space heater can consume 1.5 kW per hour, depleting a fully charged battery in about 9 hours of continued use. • 7 kW continuous backup • 8.5 kW peak • 20 kWh storage capacity • 5 kW continuous backup • 8.5 kW peak • 14 kWh storage capacity • 10 kW continuous backup • 17 kW peak • 28 kWh storage capacity
