Performance of business operations Preliminary calculations by the Federal Statistical Office show that the German economy grew by 0.3% in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the previous year. The EU reached a preliminary agreement with the US on new cus- toms policy framework conditions for trade in goods. This led to a noticeable increase in customs duties for Euro- pean export companies. The business performance of the Wüstenrot & Württem- bergische Group (W&W) developed positively as at 30 September 2025. In the first nine months of the 2025 fi- nancial year, new business and existing business in almost all segments achieved significant growth, in some cases in double digits, compared with the same period of the pre- vious year. The year to date underpins the goal of signifi- cantly increasing consolidated earnings in accordance with IFRS this year and also further increasing HGB earn- ings in the individual financial statements of W&W AG. The key portfolio figures increased compared with the previous year. The portfolio of building loans rose from €28.4 billion to €29.7 billion. Insurance revenue (technical income) in accordance with IFRS 17 also increased. In the life and health insurance segment, it rose by 4.8% to €955 million (previous year: €911 million), and in the prop- erty/casualty insurance segment by 5.2% to €2,181 million (previous year: €2,073 million). In the housing segment, new business volume increased by 6.4%. New business in life insurance, consisting of reg- ular premiums and single premiums, grew by 14.1%. In the property/casualty insurance segment, annual premium in- come increased by 7.8%. The result for the housing segment continued to be char- acterised by an expected decline in the net measurement gain/loss, continued investments for the upcoming intro- duction of the new core banking system in line with previ- ous years, and higher risk provisions. In life and health in- surance, pre-tax earnings improved due to a higher under- writing result. However, the future reduction in corpora- tion tax resulted in a charge from the revaluation of de- ferred taxes. In property/casualty insurance, the increase in revenue, partly as a result of the portfolio measures im- plemented and the absence of storm damage, led to a very strong technical result. Overall, the W&W Group's earnings performance was thus better than in the previ- ous year. The capital ratios continued to develop solidly. Outlook With a view to 2025 as a whole, we are maintaining the earnings forecasts from the interim report. We are aiming for a consolidated net profit significantly above the previ- ous year. In the individual financial statements in accord- ance with the German Commercial Code (HGB), we are planning for an annual surplus slightly above the previous year's level, based on an improved claims experience. The forecasts are subject to the proviso that there are no capi- tal market distortions, economic downturns or unforesee- able major loss events in the further course of the year.
