This performance shows accelerated business activity in the second quarter, which generated €143 million, or growth of 21.2% on a reported basis and 18.4% at constant currency compared with the same period the previous year. Over the first half of the year, exchange rates had a limited negative impact of €1.5 million. However, this effect was reversed in the second quarter, in which exchange rates had a positive impact amounting to €3.2 million, due to the improved situation i n some countries where the Group operates. Business in the first six months was driven by the strong performance in Africa (up 20% at constant currency 1) and Eurasia (up 17% at constant currency 1). In the Americas, business declined by 34% as a result of the ongoing situation in Brazil. However, efforts to develop business are starting to pay off, and new contracts have been signed with privately-owned companies in Brazil’s offshore sector.
