2 1. Overview of Operating results, etc. (1) Overview of operating results for the current quarterly cumulative period In Japan, the economy during the current first -quarter cumulative period continued on a moderate recovery trend, supported by improvements in the employment and income environment, a recovery in inbound demand, and a pickup in corporate capital investment. On the other hand, real income growth has remained sluggish due to persistently high energy and raw material prices and continued inflation, and although personal consumption has shown signs of recovery in some areas, it has generally lacked strength. In addition, concerns remain over the impact of exchange rate fluctuations, trends in fi nancial and capital markets, and geopolitical risks including the situation in the Middle East, and the outlook continues to remain uncertain. Under these circumstances, the SOSEI business has seen improved Net sales due to rising demand for renovations to domestic production facilities in the manufacturing industry, in addition to repeat orders from existing customers and large -scale projects continuing from the previous fiscal year. In the CoolLaser business, we have received repeat orders for the "CoolLaser G19-6000 series" from subsidiaries of super general contractors and construction companies engaged in public works for road bridges, and have delivered the products. As a result, Net sales for the current first -quarter cumulative period amounted to 849 million yen (up 24.0% YoY), Operating profit amounted to 131 million yen (down 9.8% YoY), Ordinary profit amounted to 130 million yen (down 7.3% YoY), and Net income amounted to 116 million yen (down 4.5% YoY). Operating results by segment are as follows. (i) SOSEI Business Net sales were 605 million yen (up 23.9% YoY), and segment profit was 207 million yen (up 4.4% YoY). (ii) CoolLaser Business Net sales were 244 million yen (up 24.1% YoY), and segment loss was 8 million yen (segment profit was 5 million yen in the same period of the previous year). (2) Overview of financial positions for the current quarterly cumulative period Status of assets, liabilities and net assets (Assets) Current assets at the end of the current first -quarter accounting period increased by 19 million yen compared with the end of the previous fiscal year, to 4,156 million yen (up 0.5% from the end of the previous fiscal year). The main factors were a decrea se of 391 million yen in Cash and deposits and an increase of 350 million yen in Inventories. Non-current assets increased by 12 million yen compared with the end of the previous fiscal year, to 1,217 million yen (up 1.1% from the end of the previous fiscal year). The main factors included an increase of 5 million yen in Property, plant and equipment due to the acquisition of machinery and equipment for business use. As a result, total Assets increased by 32 million yen compared with the end of the previous fiscal year, to 5,373 million yen (up 0.6% from the end of the previous fiscal year). (Liabilities) Current liabilities at the end of the current first -quarter accounting period decreased by 32 million yen compared with the end of the previous fiscal year, to 801 million yen (down 3.9% from the end of the previous fiscal year). The main factor was a decrease of 52 million yen in Income taxes payable, among other factors. Non-current liabilities decreased by 69 million yen compared with the end of the previous fiscal year, to 1,458 million yen (down 4.5% from the end of the previous fiscal year). The main factors included a 67 million yen decrease in Long-term borrowings due to the repayment of borrowings. As a result, total Liabilities decreased by 101 million yen compared with the end of the previous fiscal year, to 2,260 milli on yen (down 4.3% from the end of the previous fiscal year). (Net assets) Net assets at the end of the current first -quarter accounting period increased by 133 million yen compared with the end of the previous fiscal year, to 3,113 million yen (up 4.5% from the end of the previous fiscal year). The main factors were an increase of 8 million yen each in Share capital and Capital surplus due to payments associated with the exercise of Share acquisition right s, and an increase of 116 million yen in Retained earnings due to the recording of Net income.
