Although cement sales volume declined due to lower domestic demand caused by labor shortages at construction sites and prolonged construction periods, sales prices exceeded the previous year's level following the penetration of price increases implemented in the previous fiscal year. In addition, increased sales volume and lower costs in the environmental and energy business, reflecting a rebound from periodic maintenance of power generation facilities and equipment troubles in the previous fiscal year, contributed to the increase.•Overseas business: Net sales increased year-on-year due to the impact of a weaker yen, despite lower sales volumes resulting from continued sluggish private-sector demand amid persistently high interest rates in the US.
