1. Overview of Operating Results, etc. (1) Overview of Operating Results for the Three Months Ended June 30, 2026 In the Japanese economy during the three months ended June 30, 2026, although the impact of rising oil prices amid escalating tensions in the Middle East was felt in some areas, the economy recovered gradually, supported by increased exports of AI-related products amid growing global demand for AI. In addition, corporate capital investment remained firm, centering on software investment. In the global economy, economic growth slowed in Europe amid accelerating inflation and rising interest rates, while in North America, capital investment expanded, particularly in AI and data center related sectors, and in China, semiconductor exports to Asia and automobile exports to the EU remained strong. However, the impact on the global economy of factors such as rising geopolitical risks stemming from the escalating tensions in the Middle East remains uncertain. In this environment, within our main business of Robotic Solutions, with the aim to have the top market share for all products we handle, we have developed new markets and customers by focusing on expanding the sales of the flagship models, such as the modular SMT pick and place machine NXTR and the expandable all-in-one pick and place machine AIMEXR. In particular, the NXTR has been highly evaluated for its improved performance and expanded functionality, including automation and high-density placement, leading to increased demand across various industries. Furthermore, to strengthen a stable production system that can respond to demand fluctuations, we have advanced the development of personnel, equipment, and facilities at the Okazaki Factory, while promoting efforts to ensure stable procurement of materials. We have also promoted the commercialization of products other than SMT pick and place machines, such as the smart locker system Quist, the transfer support robot Hug, and the waste-sorting robot R-PLUS, and have worked to expand into new business areas. In the Machine Tools business, to create a cycle of sustainable profit growth, we have strived to enhance competitiveness in the turnkey business by improving production efficiency and proposal-based sales capabilities, while also focusing on acquiring new customers. Additionally, we have worked on enhancing the product competitiveness of our new multi-tasking lathe ACUFLEX. Moreover, we have accelerated efforts to improve operational efficiency across the Group through the use of digital technology, including AI, to increase profitability. At the same time, we have promoted management that emphasizes ESG by reducing environmental impact, strengthening human capital, and enhancing governance. As a result of the above, net sales for the three months ended June 30, 2026 increased by ¥19,075 million (45.9%) from the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, to ¥60,597 million. Operating profit increased by ¥10,012 million (192.6%) from the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, to ¥15,212 million, and ordinary profit increased by ¥10,252 million (182.0%) from the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, to ¥15,883 million. In addition, profit attributable to owners of parent increased by ¥6,938 million (122.1%) from the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, to ¥12,622 million. Operating results by segments are as follows. Robotic Solutions In the Asian region, particularly in Thailand and Vietnam, demand for AI server-related and smartphone-related equipment remained at a high level, while in North America, demand for telecommunications infrastructure-related and automotive-related equipment grew. As a result, net sales for the segment increased by ¥20,176 million (52.5%) from the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, to ¥58,624 million. Operating profit increased by ¥10,329 million (167.2%) from the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, to ¥16,508 million. Machine Tools As a result of sluggish demand for automotive sector equipment, net sales for the segment decreased by ¥1,279 million (48.6%) from the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, to ¥1,351 million, and operating loss was ¥184 million (operating profit for the same period of the previous fiscal year was ¥122 million). - 2 -
