Overview of operating results, etc. (1) Overview of operating results for the period under review During the three months ended June 30, 2026, the global economy continued to face uncertainties mainly due to soaring resource prices and the impact of supply constraints stemming from the situation in the Middle East. In the U.S., the employment environment showed signs of underlying strength while consumer spending declined due to rising prices, resulting in a sluggish trend. Meanwhile, in Japan, demand for corporate capital investment was steady, mainly due to an expansion of AI-related demand, resulting in a gradual recovery trend. Additionally, in Asia, despite the impact of high interest rates and stricter lending standards, the overall trend was steady primarily due to an improvement in infrastructure investments. In the automotive sector, to which the Group is mainly related, sales in the U.S. were sluggish due to consistently high vehicle prices, while sales in Japan and Asia remained steady. In this business environment, for the three months ended June 30, 2026, net sales, operating income, and ordinary income increased year on year due mainly to the strong performance of the Asia segment.
