6 (4) Notes to consolidated financial statements (Accounting treatments adopted specially for the preparation of consolidated financial statements) (Calculation of income tax expense) Income tax expense is calculated by multiplying profit before income taxes by a reasonably estimated effective tax rate after applying tax effect accounting to profit before income taxes for the fiscal year including the three months ended June 30, 2026 . However, if the result of calculation using the estimated effective tax rate is significantly unreasonable, the effective statutory tax rate is used. (Significant subsequent events) Notice regarding the establishment of a limit for the acquisition of treasury shares Marui Group Co., Ltd. (the “Company”) hereby announces that it has resolved at its Board of Directors meeting held on August 4, 2026, to establish a limit for the acquisition of treasury shares in accordance with the provision of Article 156 of the Companies Act as applied pursuant to Article 165, Paragraph 3 of the same act, as follows. 1. Reason for purchase of treasury shares The Company has a policy of flexibly acquiring treasury shares to enhance capital efficiency and shareholder value while comprehensively taking into account factors such as the optimal capital structure, financial position and stock price level. Through May 15, 2027, the Company has set a 20 billion yen buyback limit to address situations such as those in which future profitability is not fully reflected in the share price. 2.
