Walmart de México y Centroamérica Announces the Designation of Paulo Garcia as Chief Financial Officer and Reports Results for the Second Quarter 2021 FREE TRANSLATION , NOT TO THE LETTER Mexico City , July 22 , 2021 Wal - Mart de México , S.A.B. de C.V. ( BMV / BIVA : WALMEX ) announces to its shareholders as well as to the public in general that Paulo Garcia has been appointed Chief Financial Officer ( CFO ) of Walmart de México y Centroamérica , reporting directly to Guilherme Loureiro , President and CEO of the Company . Paulo will succeed Milton Brandt , current interim CFO , who has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of Walmart Central America . Paulo brings 24 years of global finance leadership experience , coming from Unilever and Ahold Delhaize . He was most recently at Ahold , serving as Chief Financial Officer of Europe and Indonesia , where he led the Finance , Strategy , M & A and Business Services teams with a reach of over € 27 billion euros . Previous to Ahold , he spent 20 years at Unilever , where he started his career as a trainee in 1997 and then held several roles in Audit , Funding , Controlling and as local CFO in different countries . His nationality is Portuguese and he holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Portugal . After a successful professional career in Mexico , Milton will continue his development and leadership , taking on the role of Chief Financial Officer of Walmart Central America , reporting to Paulo Garcia directly and to Flavio Cotini , Central America's CEO , in a matrix structure . For the last 15 months , he acted as interim CFO of Walmex , and he did an extraordinary job amid the most unprecedented times our company has gone through . His ample finance experience and leadership were instrumental to balance the long - term and short - term focus , while keeping our associates safe , delivering for our customers and shareholders , and positioning our company for the future . Milton's career with Walmart and Walmex is preceded by 34 years of experience in finance , with exposure to companies in consumer goods , capital goods and the retail sector . Paulo will assume his new role on August 2nd , 2021 and Milton on September 1st , 2021 .
