Operating expenses were $ 88.3 million for the second quarter of 2021 , compared to $ 57.9 million in the second quarter of the prior year , representing an increase of 53 % . Net loss was $ 49.3 million for the second quarter of 2021 , compared to $ 33.5 million for the same period in 2020 .
