( NYSE : ANET ) , an industry leader in cognitive cloud networking solutions for large datacenter and campus environments , today announced financial results for its second quarter ended June 30 , 2021 . Second Quarter Financial Highlights . • . Revenue of $ 707.3 million , an increase of 6.0 % compared to the first quarter of 2021 , and an increase of 30.8 % from the second quarter of 2020 . GAAP gross margin of 64.2 % , compared to GAAP gross margin of 63.7 % in the first quarter of 2021 and 63.7 % in the second quarter of 2020 . Non - GAAP gross margin of 65.2 % , compared to non - GAAP gross margin of 64.7 % in the first quarter of 2021 and 64.7 % in the second quarter of 2020 . GAAP net income of $ 196.9 million , or $ 2.47 per diluted share , compared to GAAP net income of $ 144.8 million , or $ 1.83 per diluted share in the second quarter of 2020 . Non - GAAP net income of $ 216.8 million , or $ 2.72 per diluted share , compared to non - GAAP net income of $ 167.0 million , or $ 2.11 per diluted share in the second quarter of 2020 .
