Shareholders ' net income for first quarter 2021 was $ 1.2 billion , or $ 3.30 per share compared with $ 1.2 billion , or $ 3.15 per share , for first quarter 2020 . Cigna's adjusted income from operations² for first quarter 2021 was $ 1.7 billion , or $ 4.73 per share , compared with $ 1.8 billion , or $ 4.69 per share , for first quarter 2020 reflecting focused execution across the ongoing businesses , led by Evernorth .
