First Quarter 2021 Financial Summary vs. Same Year - Ago Quarter • Sales increased 41 % to $ 75.3 million . • Gross margin improved 130 basis points to 35.9 % ; adjusted gross margin up 180 basis points to 36.4 % . • Net income improved significantly to $ 5.7 million , or $ 0.17 per diluted share , compared to $ 0.04 million , or $ 0.00 per diluted share . • Adjusted net income before non - cash items increased 280 % to $ 10.2 million , or $ 0.31 per diluted share , compared to $ 2.7 million , or $ 0.09 per diluted share . • Adjusted EBITDA increased 191 % to $ 10.6 million . • Free cash flow ( net cash provided by operating activities less capital expenditures ) was $ ( 3.9 ) million compared to $ 2.2 million .
