The June 30 , 2021 cash and equivalents excludes $ 118.3 million in net proceeds from the Company's initial public offering , which was completed in August 2021 . • Research and Development ( R & D ) Expenses : R & D expenses for the second quarter of 2021 were $ 7.0 million , compared with $ 3.2 million for the second quarter of 2020.
