McKesson recorded a pre - tax charge of $ 8.1 billion related to opioid litigation , resulting in third- quarter Loss per diluted share of ( $ 39.03 ) . • Adjusted Earnings per diluted share of $ 4.60 , an increase of 21 % . • Board of Directors authorized an additional $ 2.0 billion share repurchase program . Fiscal 2021 Guidance : • • Increased fiscal 2021 Adjusted Earnings per diluted share guidance range to $ 16.95 to $ 17.25 , from the previous range of $ 16.00 to $ 16.50 . Fiscal 2021 Adjusted Earnings per diluted share guidance assumes $ 0.25 to $ 0.35 related to COVID- 19 vaccine distribution and $ 0.20 to $ 0.30 related to the kitting and distribution of ancillary supplies for COVID - 19 vaccines .
