( NASDAQ : MVIS ) , a leader in MEMS based solid state automotive lidar and micro - display technology for augmented reality , today announced its third quarter 2021 results . Revenue for the third quarter of 2021 was $ 0.7 million , compared to $ 0.6 million for the third quarter of 2020. MicroVision's net loss for the third quarter of 2021 was $ 9.4 million , or $ 0.06 per share , which includes $ 2.8 million of non - cash , share - based compensation expense , compared to a net loss of $ 2.8 million , or $ 0.02 per share , which includes $ 0.5 million of non - cash , share - based compensation expense , for the third quarter of 2020. Adjusted EBITDA for the third quarter of 2021 was negative $ 6.2 million , compared to negative $ 2.1 million in the third quarter of 2020 . Cash used in operations in the third quarter of 2021 was $ 10.0 million , compared to cash used in operations in the third quarter of 2020 of $ 3.5 million . The Company ended the third quarter of 2021 with $ 125.1 million in cash and cash equivalents , compared to $ 16.9 million at the end of the fourth quarter of 2020 .
