Sempra's third - quarter 2021 results included a $ 1.1 billion after - tax charge associated with civil litigation related to the 2015 Aliso Canyon natural gas storage facility leak . On an adjusted basis , the company's third - quarter 2021 earnings were $ 545 million , or $ 1.70 per diluted share , compared to $ 432 million , or $ 1.49 per diluted share , in the third quarter of 2020 . -more
