First NEWS RELEASE First Financial Corporation Reports Third Quarter Results 10/26/2021 TERRE HAUTE , Ind . , Oct. 26 , 2021 ( GLOBE NEWSWIRE ) -- First Financial Corporation ( NASDAQ : THFF ) today announced results for the period ending September 30 , 2021 : For the quarter : • Net income was $ 16.1 million compared to $ 14.0 million for the same period of 2020 ; • Diluted net income per common share of $ 1.24 compared to $ 1.02 for the same period of 2020 ; and Return on average assets was 1.34 % compared to 1.28 % for the three months ended September 30 , 2020 . The Corporation further reported results for the nine months ending September 30 , 2021 : Net income was $ 45.6 million compared to $ 38.1 million for the same period of 2020 ; • • Diluted net income per common share of $ 3.42 compared to $ 2.78 for the same period of 2020 ; and Return on average assets was 1.28 % compared to 1.20 % for the nine months ended September 30 , 2020 .
